Marisa Eckberg PHR, SHRM-CP
CEO/Grey Owl HR
Not all answers to HR issues are black and white. Human Resources is definitely not one size fits all. That’s what Marisa has learned in her more than 15 years of industry experience. Specializing in customization, and with her in-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and their application to businesses, Marisa focuses on creating solutions to unique HR problems. Of course, solutions vary depending on the situation, the organization, industry, the goals of the business and its employees.
Her passion for working with her clients in the grey areas of HR to find solutions that are right for them and their business needs is what ignited the Grey Owl HR concept. Marisa believes that genuinely effective people strategies are not “one size fits all” but while her strategies remain malleable, she is a true perfectionist about maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
At Grey Owl HR, Marisa works with her clients to design HR strategies to fit their organization, industry, and company culture. Working side-by-side with her clients as a business partner, providing guidance in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and retention, on-boarding programs, compensation planning, learning and development, engagement and recognition, organizational culture, leadership development, and compliance, she fills critical gaps that could otherwise leave her clients open to possible litigation.
That is the strength in hiring a true HR professional.
Marisa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of North Texas. She is certified by the Human Resources Certification Institute as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). In addition, she is credentialed by the Society of Human Resource Management as a Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-CP).
